Faith’s eyes can see beyond the now
To the bliss of life above;
A heav’nly glimpse that Christ allows
Of His joy and peace and love.
Oh what sweet comfort to the soul
Our eternal hope does bring;
Christ conquered here our ancient foe,
Defeated death and took its sting.
This on earth our pain and sorrow
Is for days, a few, or years;
Quickly comes, and bright, the morrow,
Gone will be all hurt and tears.
Hasten, Father, that glad morning
When the King of life I’ll see;
For to meet Him is my longing
And with loved ones ‘ere to be
